Week 3 Assignment – Select an Issue in Education
Overview This week you will select an educational issue to focus on for the rest of the course. The issue will be appropriate to your chosen track, either K12 or adult education. For this assignment, you will research the issue, explain how it is related to diversity, describe how ethics can be applied to your chosen topic, and explore how it can be addressed through learning. Based on this information, you will create a sentence outline for the paper to be completed in Week 5.
Instructions Part 1. Issue Selection Write a 12 page paper following these instructions: Address each item in 35 sentences.
? Select a current issue related to education that you would like to research. Refer to your previous research at the U.S. Department of Education, the American Association of University Professors, and/or the Association for Talent Development. In addition, review the Week 2 discussion of issues. Provide enough information to show that the issue is relevant to education and your program track.
? Explain how the topic of diversity is connected to your educational issue. ? Review a set of ethical guidelines that is appropriate for your area of education. You can
select from the following or research another source:
? The National Education Association: Code of Ethics for Educators. ? The Society for Human Resource Management: Code of Ethics. ? Training Industry: Addressing Ethics in Training. ? Academy of Human Resource Development: Standards on Ethics and Integrity.
? Identify 35 ethical standards that apply to addressing the educational issue you have selected. Explain how the ethical standards apply to the issue you have selected. Cite the source of the code of ethics.
Part 2. Sentence Outline Create a sentence outline for the paper that you will write for the Week 5 assignment.

General APA writing tips
Your paper must be double-spaced typed and formatted on standard-sized paper which is
(8.5″ x 11″), with 1 margins in all the four sides. Always type using a clear font that is visible and highly readable. It is recommend to us 12pt. Times New Roman font for APA paper format.
Your paper should have four main sections namely title page, abstract, main body, as well as the references page.
Title page: This section carries the paper title, name of the author, and the name of the institution.In this section include the page header on the left with the page number on the right at top.Note that your header should look like this Running head:PAPER TITLE.
Subsequent pages should have a header that look like this TITLE OF YOUR PAPER.
Reference page: write the word References on a new page at the top. Bold and centre the word. Put all the references alphabetically under the labeled title References. Remember to apply hanging indent whereby the first line of the reference is aligned to the left, and all other lines get indented 0.2996 inches.
